Within the European joint program EJP SOIL “Towards climate-smart sustainable management of agricultural soils” (www.ejpsoil.org ) 24 countries are developing joint solutions to enhance the contribution of agricultural soils to key societal challenges: Climate change adaptation and mitigation are addressed, as well as sustainable agricultural production, ecosystem services provision, prevention and restoration of land and soil degradation, and biodiversity maintenance.
